Breast Revision Augmentation

Case 5

This is a 42 year old, height 5 foot 7 inches & weight 140 pounds. She has 6 children.  8 years prior (approximately 1999), she had a sub-glandular (over the pectoralis muscle) augmentation using silicone implants with a periareolar mastopexy (Binelli breast lift). She presented with a symptomatic, bothersome grade III-IV capsular contracture on left, and a less severe contracture on the right.

She is seen here 3 months after removal of her old implants, bilateral capsulectomy (removal of tight scar tissue surrounding the implants) & augmentation with conversion to sub-muscular location using smooth round silicone implants (200 ml left & 225 ml right).

During the operation, she was found to have a ruptured left silicone implant, the right implant was unruptured.

She is now happy with her soft, naturally shape breasts.
