Dr. Joel P. Maier is a board-certified plastic surgeon by the American Board of Plastic Surgery
(abplsurg.org) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons
(facs.org). He is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
A native of Portland, Oregon, Dr. Maier received his B.S. in Biology from Portland State University, followed by his M.D. from Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Maier completed a traditional general surgical training program starting with a General Surgery residency at The Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, New York, an affiliate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he also served as Chief Surgery Resident.
Dr. Maier then completed a Plastic Surgery residency and Burn fellowship at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He further refined his expertise through a specialized Breast & Body Aesthetic fellowship in Nashville, Tennessee with renowned aesthetic surgeons Drs. Jack Fisher, Mary Gingrass, and Melinda Haws.
Experience & Focus
With nearly two decades of surgical experience, Dr. Maier has dedicated his career to cosmetic breast and body contouring. He has practiced in both Oregon and the Midwest and currently provides advanced cosmetic procedures through leading surgical centers specializing in aesthetic and body contouring treatments.
His clinical focus includes cosmetic breast procedures, body contouring, and advanced minimally invasive techniques, with an emphasis on achieving natural-looking, confidence-enhancing results tailored to each patient.
Board Certification
Dr. Maier is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) that certifies physicians in the full spectrum of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
